  • Hi everyone,
Its Breann, ummm well since most of you wanted to know what life here is like is pretty much like a normal high schooler. We go to school Mon.-Fri. and then on the weekends we usually go and watch American Football games Friday night with all of our friends or go and watch the movie at the local movie theater. We get together on weekends usually Sundays and play soccer just for fun in the afternoon for something to do and thats pretty much it...:) Love, Breann

  • Greetings to all of Ana Maria's Students:

I first met Ana Maria when we were both the same age that all of you are now. She was an exchange student at my high school in the USA.
I was immediately impressed by her warm smile, beautiful voice and wonderful laugh. I have always treasured the opportunity I had to become her friend. It was really neat to find someone who was in many ways so much like me, yet culturally we were very different!

You are fortunate to have her as your teacher. I know she cares about each and everyone of you and wants to help you achieve the most success that you can in your education.

One question asked was what the weather is like here. In our region of the USA we are entering our "fall season". It is getting cooler and the leaves on our trees are beginning to turn colors - it's my favorite time of the year because the colors are so brilliant! Within the next 6 weeks we'll probably get our first snowfall of the year. I'll try to find some time to take some pictures and send them to you.

I have a very fond memory of the first time Ana Maria saw snow when her and I were students together. I remember we were riding a bus to a volleyball game. All of the rest of the students were busy talking and laughing and she was quietly looking out the window. All of a sudden, she started hollering at us and jumping up and down. We wondered what was wrong with her.... then she pointed out the window and said, "It's snowing, it's snowing" (this of course was not a big deal to us). Her excitement was wonderful! We got off the bus and taught her how to catch the snowflakes on her tongue. Since then, I think of her every time we have our first snowfall!!!

Cheers & talk to you soon,
    Jolene

  • Dear Jo,
Funny you remembered that moment in my life, seeing snow for the first time. Undoubtedly, it was one of the most treasured memories I have and I´m glad I was able to share with you. I´m sure everyone would love to see pictures you send us.
    Love,
    Ana Maria
